Just a few of the available selections for Discovery House's 2025 Soup is Good Food fundraiser. The proceeds support the continued operation of the Penticton addiction recovery program.

Discovery House's annual and beloved Soup is Good Food fundraiser is back in Penticton all through the month of March.

In its 14th year, the Soup is Good Food campaign is one of the addiction recovery program's major annual events, alongside their Father's Day fundraiser.

All of the funds raised through the soup sales, which come with fresh Cobs buns and coffee, support Discovery House's continued operations and programs.

The soups start at $10 for one, but for people who order more there are discounts to be had, with three for $27, six for $50, and 10 soups for $80 and free delivery in Penticton for orders over $40.

Pick-up is also available at Discovery House's 633 Winnipeg Street location in Penticton.

The Penticton Lakeside Resort is also donating a soup each week to the selection available, with a potato jalapeno soup their first offering.

The other soups available for the first week include chicken noodle, roasted squash (vegan and gluten free), beef barley soup, beef chili, tomato basil (vegan), vegetarian black bean soup (vegan and gluten free), cream of mushroom and a potato, bacon and cheddar soup.

Orders can be made online at www.discoveryhouserecovery.com/food, and need to be in the Wednesday before Friday Soup Day that week.

Soups will be served up from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm on March 7th, 14th, 21st, and 28th.

For questions or help ordering, there is also a meals hotline at 250-328-5142.

And for the rare few people who aren't interested in a good hot bowl of soup or chili for themselves, but still want to support Discovery House and the work they do, you can donate through their CanadaHelps page.

For any donation of $8 or more, Discovery House is giving meals out to the Fill the Food Gap, OneSky, the Foundry Youth Centre and the Ooknakane Friendship Centre to be distributed in the community to those lacking food security.
