Vernon's Comic Con is back for another year, and it is offering more than just comic books.
Taking place on Saturday, May 3 (known as free comic book day), the pop-culture event will offer activities, games, cosplayers, guest speakers, books, clothing and much more.
"The Vernon Comic Con began in a small ballroom in 2018 and in a few short years, has become one of the largest paid events in the North Okanagan," said producer Peter Kaz. "Over 7,000 attendees walked through the doors last year, for our one-day event."
This year's event will be an hour longer (10 a.m. to 6 p.m.) and will be located in Vernon Curling Club, and Vernon Rec Centre.
"Now with shorter lines, it is becoming the Vernon Comic Con campus," said Kaz. "Futurama artist James Lloyd, DJ Lunchboxx, food trucks, collectables, a games room, a stage room and movie props will also be there. It is like Disneyland for young and old."
