An in-depth economic impact study is underway of the Okanagan tech sector.
Accelerate Okanagan (AO) has contracted KPMG for the survey which is open until June 30.
鈥淪tudies like this are why Accelerate Okanagan has become the backbone of the Okanagan tech ecosystem,鈥 said 4AG Robotics CEO, Sean O鈥機onnor. 鈥淚t鈥檚 a central hub for helping startups in the region stay connected and access resources, and they鈥檙e working to show that we can punch way above our weight.鈥
The study will measure jobs, revenue, and investment, and the opportunities and challenges of growing a tech business in the Okanagan.
鈥淯nderstanding the tech sector鈥檚 contribution to the Okanagan's economy will help amplify the current expertise and growth opportunities, which is critical in attracting talent and investment,鈥 O鈥機onnor added.
Tech companies from Salmon Arm to Osoyoos can take part in the survey, which takes about 20 minutes, which is available on the AO website. Results will be made public in the fall.
The last economic impact study for the tech sector was conducted in 2017.
