1 arrested as 麻豆精选 RCMP recover stolen boat, marine batteries, more

麻豆精选 RCMP took a man into custody on Wednesday afternoon (Sept. 11) after reports of a stolen aluminum boat.

Officers in a police vessel found a man and a woman at the Manhattan Drive Beach access point shore where the man was arrested with incident.

On top of the stolen boat, officers reported other stolen items including marine batteries and an outboard motor.

鈥淢any thanks to the witnesses who accurately directed police toward the suspect,鈥 Cpl. Michael Gauthier. 鈥淭his was a quick and safe arrest and highlighted the type of resources we have at our immediate disposable in the Central Okanagan RCMP Detachment area, including our aircrafts and police vessels.鈥

The man was released from custody with an appearance notice scheduled for a later court date.
