Empowering Youth and Building Bridges: Recap of the Third Annual RCMP Youth COP Camp

The third annual RCMP Youth COP Camp wrapped up at Mount Boucherie Senior Secondary School on May 6.

With 22 students completing the program, the graduation ceremony was celebrated by local leaders, a Westbank First Nation Elder, West 麻豆精选 Mayor Gord Milsom, the school鈥檚 principal, and proud families.

Const. Rohel Williams, from the First Nations Policing Unit, emphasized the camp鈥檚 success in achieving its objectives.

鈥淲e reached our goal of strengthening the bond between the RCMP and Indigenous communities, and encouraging more Indigenous and non-Indigenous people to consider a career in the RCMP,鈥 Williams said.

A highlight of the camp was the opportunity for students to learn firsthand from experienced RCMP officers.

鈥淚鈥檓 very proud of all the students who took part,鈥 Williams added. 鈥淚 think the camp helps break down barriers between the youth, their communities, and the RCMP.鈥

The success of the third annual RCMP Youth COP Camp highlights its significance in empowering youth and fostering collaboration between law enforcement.
