A truck fire on the northbound lanes of the Coquihalla Highway is expected to slow traffic down between Hope and Merritt in the early afternoon on Thursday, April 3.

Nearly two hours after the Coquihalla's northbound lanes reopened after a fatal incident, traffic is expected to slow down on the Hope to Merritt stretch again following a truck fire.

Multiple photos and videos posted to the Coquihalla Road Reports (And Area) Facebook group show the front of the truck fully engulfed in flames, with black smoke being seen from quite a distance.

The truck is in between Britton Creek and Mine Creek. It's unknown at this time if anyone is injured.

Traffic delays are expected for travellers in the area.

More to come.
