Drugs and thousands of dollars in cash were seized in Lake Country on March 4.
At about 6 p.m. Monday, a Mountie pulled over a concerning vehicle at Carrs Landing Road and near Okanagan Center Road East. According to RCMP, as police approached the vehicle to tell the driver the reason why he was pulled over, the officer noticed drug paraphernalia and suspected drugs.
The driver and the two passengers were all arrested for possession of a controlled substance. Upon searching the three individuals and the vehicle, the following was found:
- Approximately 18 grams of suspected fentanyl;
- 48 grams of suspected methamphetamine;
- Prescription pills;
- Several thousand dollars of Canadian currency;
- One digital scale;
- Other drug paraphernalia
The three people were released at the scene and the Lake Country RCMP are continuing their investigation.
鈥淥ur officers will continue to enforce the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act to improve road safety and reduce the flow of illicit drugs into our communities,鈥 said Sgt. Jon Collins with the Lake Country RCMP.
