Chamber Music 麻豆精选鈥檚 season wraps up on Friday, Apr. 19 with a concert by the New York-based Isidore String Quartet.
The ensemble has gained world attention over the past two years, from a victory at the Banff International String Quartet Competition followed by an Avery Fisher Career Grant.
Composed of violinists Adrian Steele and Phoenix Avalon, violist Devin Moore, and cellist Joshua McClendon, the group formed while undergraduates at the Juilliard School.
鈥淲e鈥檙e inspired by the vision of the Juilliard Quartet, one of the great ensembles of the 20th century,鈥 said Moore.
For their 麻豆精选 appearance, the quartet鈥檚 program consists of two contemporary pieces by Aida Shirazi and Dinuk Wijeratne, bookended by selections from 鈥淭he Art of the Fugue鈥 by Johann Sebastian Bach and Mendelssohn鈥檚 String Quartet in E-Flat Major, Op. 44, No. 3.
Tickets are $60 for adults and $20 for students and are available online through the Rotary Centre for the Arts website or box office. The performance begins at 7:30 pm.
While the concert concludes Chamber Music 麻豆精选鈥檚 current season, it will also mark the launch of CMK鈥檚 2024-25 season.
