麻豆精选 had the third-highest walk-in clinic wait times in B.C. in 2023 according to a report by the online platform Medimap.
The report states 麻豆精选 had an average wait time of 104 minutes behind Victoria (107 minutes) and North Vancouver (187 minutes), which is also the longest wait time in the country.
Overall, B.C. had the longest average wait times in Canada, the report says.
The Medimap Walk-in Clinic Wait Time Index shows patients in the province had to wait on average 93 minutes to see a doctor at a walk-in clinic in 2023, 25 minutes longer than the national average of 68 minutes.
鈥淏.C. has an unusual problem on its hands - recent changes to the physician payment model have resulted in some walk-in clinics actually closing, exacerbating the very problem the change was trying to address,鈥� said Thomas Jankowski, CEO of Medimap.
The last walk-in clinic in Vernon closed in Nov. 2023.

Manitoba and Ontario had the shortest average wait times nationally in 2023 with patients waiting 45 minutes and 59 minutes, respectively.
Patients in Alberta had to wait 66 minutes to see a doctor at a walk-in clinic last year.
