The Regional District of Central Okanagan (RDCO) has wrapped up the planning process for its Economic Development Commission (COEDC).
Roadmap to Resiliency: COEDC Strategy 2025-2030, will boost economic growth in the region over the next five years according to an RDCO staff report. It builds on the Moving Forward to 2025 strategy, which is coming to an end. The report will be presented to the RDCO board on February 20.
The main goals of the new strategy are:
- Drive Economic Resilience: Help businesses adapt to changing economic conditions;
- Build a Skilled Workforce: develop, attract, and retain talent;
- Promote Innovation: To increase productivity and resource efficiency;
- Grow Export-Focused Industries: Attract high-value companies, support market expansion, and build regional supply chains.
The COEDC Advisory Committee provided input through workshops, and several regional community organizations also contributed during the community engagement phase.
The strategy aligns with the COEDC's five-year financial plan and will be adjusted based on regional needs and available resources. The full report is available on the RDCO website.
