A 麻豆精选 RCMP officer is expected to make a full recovery after they were injured during an arrest, Thursday evening.
Police responded to a theft from a business in the 500 block of Highway 33 at approximately 5:45 p.m.
An officer located the suspect, however, while attempting to arrest the person, they fled on foot, stated RCMP. According to police, the suspect was quickly located again behind a business in the 200 block of Hollywood Road and resisted arrest. Multiple RCMP attended the scene.
鈥淲hile resisting, an officer was injured before the suspect was taken into custody where they remain at this time,鈥� said 麻豆精选 RCMP.
The officer was taken to hospital by BC Ambulance and is anticipated to make a full recovery.
