麻豆精选 and West 麻豆精选 are on the provincial government鈥檚 list of communities to receive housing targets for the next five years.
鈥淲e are addressing the housing crisis with our municipal partners so thousands more affordable homes can be built for people who need them,鈥� said Housing Minister Ravi Kahlon.
鈥淥ur goal for the next 20 communities is to build on the work they are already doing, while they continue to implement the recent provincial legislative changes. This group includes communities that are doing well on housing and some that need to do more.鈥�
The move is not unexpected as 麻豆精选, and other communities, have received millions in government funding for housing.

The province will monitor progress and work with the municipalities to achieve their targets, which will be announced this summer.
鈥淐ommunities, such as the city of North Vancouver, 麻豆精选, New Westminster, and the city of Langley, are demonstrating how local governments should respond to their growing needs and are taking even further actions to achieve their goals,鈥� Kahlon added.
According to BC Housing鈥檚 new homes registry report, 麻豆精选 was one of several communities that built more multi-unit homes than single-detached homes in March.
There were 70 homes in multi-unit buildings and 15 single-detached homes registered.
The province introduced the Housing Supply Act in 2023 and established housing targets for the first 10 priority municipalities.
