The Peachland Pincushion Quilt Guild is set to dazzle the community with their creations at the Quilts by the Beach exhibition.
The event will showcase the intricate quilts members have crafted since their last show in 2019 before the pandemic.
Guild President Erin Galley expressed her excitement:
鈥淭he long break since our last show in 2019 means that everyone has some amazing quilts to show off,鈥 said Erin Galley, guild president.
The exhibition will feature a range of quilts, including traditional, modern, and art quilts, along with other fibre arts.
鈥淲e are really proud of this year鈥檚 raffle quilt, which is an exceptionally beautiful combination of curved piecing and hand applique,鈥 Galley added.
Attendees can enjoy a tearoom and explore a merchant mall with quilting-related merchandise.
The Guild also donates numerous quilts to organizations such as the Women鈥檚 Shelter, the Neonatal Unit at 麻豆精选 General Hospital, the Salvation Army, and victims of natural disasters.
A Quilt of Valour will be awarded to a deserving veteran in recognition of their service, and another quilt will be raffled at this year鈥檚 event.
Quilts by the Beach takes place from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Friday, June 7, and Saturday, June 8 at the Peachland Community Center (4460 6th Street). Admission is $10.
