UPDATE: March 6:
Vernon-North Okanagan RCMP are investigating a vehicle collision with a pole that knocked out power to more than 200 residents along Westside Road Thursday morning.
The collision occurred in the 11000-block, between Six Mile Creek Road and Lawrence Lane. Police arrived to find the vehicle badly damaged and unoccupied.
"It was determined the car had hit the Hydro pole, shearing it in half, and causing a power outage in the area," said Vernon North Okanagan RCMP media liaison office Const. Chris Terleski.
Westside Road was closed for a period of time to allow crews to repair the damaged pole.
No injuries have been reported.
BC Hydro estimates the power will be back on for affected residents at around 12 p.m.
