Close to 5,000 shoeboxes have been collected by the 麻豆精选 Gospel Fellowship Church and there is still time to get yours packed with gifts for needy kids around the world.
Today at 4 p.m. is the final day for collection at the KGF Church at the corner of Gordon and Casorso.
Senior pastor Mike Penninga said its been a great week collecting the shoeboxes, which the church requested be packed with gifts and will be sent out to kids in need in many different countries.

鈥淚t鈥檚 been an incredibly exciting week, and today is the final day people can bring their shoeboxes back to KGF Church, corner of Gordon & Casorso,鈥 said Penninga. 鈥淲e have seen nearly 5,000 shoeboxes collected from the Central Okanagan, which is incredible.鈥
A semi-truck will be arriving Wednesday to take these shoeboxes to the processing facility in Calgary, where they will be checked and then sent on to over 10 countries in Central America, Western Africa, and Ukraine.
All told, Operation Christmas Child will collect & distribute more than 12 million shoeboxes (from 10 countries to 100 countriers this year.
