The Lower Similakemeen Indian Band has welcomed a new Band Manager.
The LSIB's Chief and Council announced on Feb. 4 that Donna Wilchynski, will assume her new role as LSIB Band Manager on March 3rd.
Wilchynski was previously the band's head of public works, housing and capital projects and grew up in the region.
鈥淲orking with the sm蓹lqm铆x, the Staff, and the Chief and Council of LSIB, has been one of the top highlights of my entire career. I鈥檓 excited to be able to continue with LSIB in this new mrole, and to continue enjoying the workplace, the lands, and the people,鈥 said Wilchynski.

鈥淪ince Donna will be transferring from another department, there will be a transition period where we will be posting to fill her current role as Department Lead," said Chief Crow. "I wish to thank LSIB personnel for all of the hard work. I am truly honoured to work with such great staff. I am looking forward to Donna being the leader of our Administration team, and looking forward to the future of LSIB.鈥
The competition to fill Wilchynski鈥檚 previous role will start in the coming weeks.
