After allegedly stealing a vehicle, a Vernon man drove through a red light and collided with another vehicle after being chased by RCMP. He was eventually arrested.
Around 10:30 p.m. on Wednesday (April 2) night, a Vernon RCMP officer attempted a traffic stop with a black pickup truck in the area near 34th Street and 48th Avenue.
As soon as the officer activated their emergency lights, the 37-year-old driver ignored police, sped away and ran through a red light.
The suspect then collided with another vehicle at the 48th Avenue and 27th Street intersection.
The black pickup was determined to be stolen, and both the driver and passenger were arrested without further incident.
The driver of the other vehicle was transported from the scene for treatment of non life-threatening injuries.
