A fire at a property in Princeton last week saw extensive damage to multiple structures.
On April 24 at 2:18 p.m., the Princeton Fire Department was paged out for a structure fire at 32 Fenchurch Ave. involving a shed in the rear of the property. The shed was completely engulfed in flames and spread west to other structures on Fenchurch.
The department responded to the fire with four vehicles and requested mutual aid from the Keremeos Fire Department. Fire crews were on scene for about three hours battling flames.
"A shed was scorched, and considerable damage was done to the sun deck and side of the house," said Princeton Fiire chief Rob Banks.
Todd Davidson, Princeton and District Museum and Archives operations manager was in the area when the fire occurred, as he lives close by, and saw the flames spread from the shed to the neighbour's house.
"There were no injuries, but extensive damage was done to the two homes," he said. "Had the wind been blowing the other way, my home might have been involved."
The cause of the fire is currently under investigation.
