Trans-Canada Highway to close Thursday between Sicamous, Revelstoke

Motorists should be advised that Highway 1 will close for two hours both ways along a 15.4-kilometre stretch between Sicamous and Revelstoke on Thursday, May 1, according to DriveBC.

Any motorists planning to take the Trans-Canada Highway through the Rockies this Thursday should be advised that 15.4 kilometres of the route will close that morning between Sicamous and Revelstoke.

Blasting work will shutter Highway 1 both ways between Griffin Lake Avalanche Gate and Clanwilliam Bridge from 10 a.m. to noon on May 1, according to DriveBC.

It doesn't say whether a detour will be available. Any further updates are expected once the closure ends at 12 p.m. Thursday.
