A grass fire that spread to a nearby home in the 2300-block of Shannon Woods Drive has been put out.
West 麻豆精选 fire crews responded to the blaze around 12:45 p.m. to find fire damage to a number of hedges on the property and damage to the roof of the garage.
The fire was started by a neighbour who was burning leaves and lost control of the burn. The individual has taken full responsibility.
A first responder on scene told Black Press that the homeowner and nearby landscape workers attempted to knock down the flames, but were unsuccessful.
No injuries were reported. Damage to the home is minimal.
Update 1:10 p.m.
Shannon Woods Drive in West 麻豆精选 is down to a single lane of alternating traffic while emergency crews assess a bush fire that spread to a home in the 2000-block.
The fire department, and RCMP are on scene.
Bushes lining the driveway of the home were scorched before it spread to the roof of the garage.
The cause of the blaze is not yet known.
