UPDATE: Highway 1 reopened between Revelstoke and Sicamous after incident

Road open again after closure between Woods and Clanwilliam bridges due to vehicle incident

A closure took effect for 6.2 kilometres along Highway 1 between Revelstoke and Sicamous following a vehicle incident the afternoon of Feb. 21, according to DriveBC.

Motorists are advised that a road closure Friday afternoon along Highway 1 for 6.2 kilometres between Revelstoke and Sicamous is now cleared, according to DriveBC.

A vehicle incident Feb. 21 closed the stretch of highway between the Woods and Clanwilliam bridges in both directions, near Victor Lake and nine kilometres west of Revelstoke, for an uncertain length of time between 12 and 2 p.m.

Emcon Services' local operations manager Kody Moncrief told Black Press Media the incident likely involved a jackknifed semi trailer, and would be cleared up as soon as possible.

DriveBC reported the stretch of highway to be clear as of 2:13 p.m.
