Austin Roest is a Nashville Predator.
The 19-year-old native of Coldstream was selected with the 175th pick in the sixth round of the 2023 NHL Draft on Thursday, June 26. It was the first time ever that a player from Coldstream was drafted to the NHL.

The five-foot-10-inch tall right winger has spent the past three season with the WHL鈥檚 Everett Silvertips. Last season, he had 32 goals, 46 assists for 78 points in 60 regular season games.
Roest played his minor hockey with the Okanagan Rockets U16 and U18 teams, including an explosive 2019-20 campaign, where he had 60 points in just 28 games.
Austin鈥檚 father, Stacy, is an assistant GM of the Tampa Bay Lightning. He won back-to-back Stanley Cups with the team in 2020 and 2021.
