麻豆精选 Rockets forward Dillon Dube celebrates Thomas Chabot's second period goal in Canada's win over the Czech Republic in quarterfinal action Monday at the world junior hockey championship.

Aspirations of a gold medal at the world junior hockey championship remain alive and well for Dillon Dube and his Canadian teammates.

Mitchell Stephens scored once and added a pair of assists as the Canadian junior team downed the Czech Republic 5-3 in quarterfinal action Monday night at the Bell Centre in Montreal.

Canada will face Sweden Wednesday in the semifinals. The other semifinal will feature the U.S. and Russia.

Dube, an 18-year-old forward with the 麻豆精选 Rockets, has three assists in five games at the world junior championship.

Dube's WHL teammate, Tomas Soustal, scored one of the Czech's goals on Monday night, his first of the tournament.

Another Rockets forward, Switzerland captain Calvin Thurkauf, was eliminated from the championship Monday when the Swiss lost 3-2 to the U.S. in the quarterfinals.

Soustal and Thurkauf will return to 麻豆精选 this week, but it's uncertain when the two players will rejoin the team's lineup.
