The 麻豆精选 Rockets continue their eight-game road trip this weekend in the Prairies.
Last Friday night (Dec. 1), the Rockets opened the trip on the right foot with a 4-0 shutout win over the Vancouver Giants. In the game, goaltender Jari Kykkanen made 31 saves for the shutout while forward Andrew Cristall had a four-point night (one goal, three assists). They also got goals from Gabriel Sztruc, John Babcock, and Dylan Wightman.
Saturday night didn鈥檛 go as well for the Rockets as they fell to the Seattle Thunderbirds.
Tij Iginla scored his team-leading 20th goal of the season and Ethan Mittelsteadt scored his first of the year but it wasn鈥檛 enough as the Rockets lost 3-2. Kykkanen made 29 saves in the loss.
After the 1-1 start to the road trip, the team is in Regina on Friday, Dec. 8 and Moose Jaw on Saturday, Dec. 9.
Going into the weekend, the Rockets sit seventh in the Western Conference with a 11-14-2-0 record.
Friday night鈥檚 opponent, the Regina Pats, sit 10th in the Eastern Conference with a record of 11-15-1-1, while the Moose Jaw Warriors are third in the conference with a 17-10-0-1 record.
Both puck drops are at 5 p.m. Pacific time, 7 p.m. in Saskatchewan.
The Rockets road trip goes until after Christmas. They will next be at Prospera Place on Friday, Dec. 29 when they welcome the Kamloops Blazers to town.
