It’s another big weekend ahead of the local Â鶹¾«Ñ¡ sports scene.
Okanagan Sun
The Okanagan Sun and vying for the second consecutive British Columbia Football Conference (BCFC) championships.
After finishing the regular season 8-1, the Sun host the Valley Huskers in the BCFC semi-final on Saturday, Oct. 21 at the Apple Bowl.
With the 8-1 record, the Sun finished second in the BCFC standings while the Huskers finished third with a 7-3 record. In the last week of the regular season, the Sun beat Valley 46-7.
Kick-off for Saturday’s semi-final is 2 p.m. at the Apple Bowl in Â鶹¾«Ñ¡.
Â鶹¾«Ñ¡ Rockets
After a mid-week win against Swift Current, the Â鶹¾«Ñ¡ Rockets play on the road and at home this weekend.
The action kicks off Friday night as the Rockets are in Kennewick, WA to take on the Tri-City Americans, who are third in the WHL’s Western Conference with a 5-3-0-0 record. Going into the weekend, the Rockets are fourth in the conference with a 4-4-1 record.
Puck drop on Friday night is at 7:05 p.m.
After the game, the Rockets will head home to take on the Vancouver Giants on Saturday night at Prospera Place. The Giants are 10th in the conference with a 2-3-1-0 record.
Saturday is the Rockets annual Hershey’s Candy Scramble where during one of the intermissions, children 10 and under will be invited to collect candy scattered on the ice. All fans are invited to dress up in their Halloween costumes as well.
The Dirt Road Kings will also be playing live music throughout the night.
Puck drop is also at 7:05 p.m.
West Â鶹¾«Ñ¡ Warriors
It’s a one-game weekend for the West Â鶹¾«Ñ¡ Warriors as they finish a home-and-home set against the Vernon Vipers on Friday night.
On Wednesday night, the Warriors lost 4-3 to the Vipers at Royal LePage Place, moving Vernon up to first place in the Interior Conference.
Going into the weekend, the Warriors are third in the conference with a 6-2-1-0 record.
Puck drop for Friday night is set for 7 p.m. at the Kal Tire Centre in Vernon.
Â鶹¾«Ñ¡ Chiefs
The Â鶹¾«Ñ¡ Chiefs are playing a home-and-home series with the Revelstoke Grizzlies this weekend.
Friday night’s game takes place at Rutland Arena in Â鶹¾«Ñ¡ while Saturday night’s game is in Revelstoke.
The Chiefs are second in the Bill Ohlhausen Division with a 3-5-2-0 record while Revelstoke is 3-3-0-0, fourth in the Doug Birks Division.
Puck drop is at 7 p.m. on both nights.
