Shanda Hill has clinched the DecaUltraTri Continuous Double Deca victory in San Felipe, GTO, Mexico.

鈥淚t took her 26 days to surpass Ronny Roesler from Germany and snag the top spot overall for her third double deca finish,鈥 her support team wrote on social media early Friday, Oct. 20.

Hill is among six athletes who started the race; however, three bowed out due to the extreme conditions, highlighting how tough this challenge was.

Shanda鈥檚 outstanding performance adds another Double Deca finish this year, following her triumphant campaign in Buchs, Switzerland, last month.

鈥淲ith this historic feat, Hill solidifies her reputation as one of Canada鈥檚 top-tier ultra triathletes and gains global recognition,鈥 her team said.

Over the past two months, Hill swam 152 kilometres, biked 7,200, and ran 1,688 km.

鈥淭he Double Deca Ultra Triathlon is the ultimate test of human endurance, pushing the boundaries of physical and mental limits.鈥

Athletes are tasked with completing the staggering equivalent of 20 iron-distance triathlons, taking on the following distances over an extended continuous period:

Swim: 76 km (47 miles)

Bike: 3,600 km (2,237 miles)

Run: 844 km (524 miles)

Hill is now one of just three people worldwide who have conquered two double decas, putting her in an exclusive group.

With the successful completion of the double deca in Mexico, Hill becomes the first person to conquer three Double Deca Ultra Triathlons.

As of today, Hill has achieved the astounding equivalent of 100 long-distance triathlon races in just seven years, earning her a spot in the prestigious IUTA Hall of Fame.

She also holds the Female World Record for the most long-distance triathlons completed in a calendar year.

鈥淭hank you for supporting Shanda through this long and tiring journey,鈥 her team said.
