Okanagan lacrosse loop set to start

Teams in Armstrong, Vernon, Â鶹¾«Ñ¡, and Kamloops to play nine games each starting April 13

The four-team Thompson Okanagan Senior Lacrosse League has released its 2025 schedule.

The season April 13 with the two-time defending B.C. Senior C champion Â鶹¾«Ñ¡ Raiders taking on the Kamloops Rattlers at the Kamloops Memorial Arena. Game time is 4 p.m.

The Raiders won the provincial title as hosts of the B.C. tournament, defeating the Port Coquitlam Hitmen 14-13 in double overtime in the gold-medal match.

The league will take a break for Easter before resuming Friday, April 25, when the Raiders play their home opener against the Vernon Tigers at the Rutland Arena. Game time is 7 p.m.

The defending Rowcliffe Cup playoff champion Armstrong Shamrocks – who defeated the Raiders in the 2024 championship series – will kick off their season on the road in Kamloops Sunday, April 27, at 3 p.m.

The Shamrocks' home opener will be against their arch-rivals, the Tigers, Friday, May 2, at 7:30 p.m. at the Sunbelt Arena (formerly Nor-Val Sports Centre).

Vernon will play its first four games on the road before their home opener on Friday, May 30, against the Shamrocks at Kal Tire Place. Game time will be 7:45 p.m.

Each team plays a nine-game schedule, three games against the other squads.

Armstrong and Vernon will close out the league's regular season at Kal Tire Place on Friday, June 27 (7:30 p.m.).

JUNIOR LACROSSE

The Thompson Okanagan Junior League begins its regular season this weekend with a pair of games Saturday (April 5).

The defending champion Kamloops Venom host the Â鶹¾«Ñ¡ Kodiaks at Kamloops Memorial Arena while the newly minted North Okanagan Iron Ghost Construction Reapers (formerly Vernon Tigers) travel to Penticton to take on the South Okanagan Flames at Memorial Arena.

Both games start at 7 p.m.

The Reapers will play their eight home games at Armstrong's Sunbelt Arena beginning Saturday, April 12, with a date versus the Kodiaks (7 p.m.).

Â鶹¾«Ñ¡ plays its first three games away from the friendly confines of Â鶹¾«Ñ¡ Memorial Arena before tangling with the Reapers Saturday, April 19 (7 p.m.).
