The Penticton Vees have appointed a new director of scouting as the club's inaugural WHL season inches closer.
Adam Sergerie, who has spent the last four seasons as the general manager of the BCHL's Sherwood Park Crusaders, has been named to the role.
鈥淚 have had an opportunity to watch how Adam has put together talented teams in Sherwood Park,鈥 said Fred Harbinson, the Vees' president, general manager, and head coach. 鈥淚 know that his detailed approach and his ability to lead our regional scouts will give us the best opportunity to achieve our goal of winning a WHL Championship and Memorial Cup."
Sergerie will lead Penticton's scouting department as the team prepares for its first WHL campaign, which begins in September.
He joins the Vees after assembling a Sherwood Park roster that features three players in Central Scouting鈥檚 final rankings ahead of the 2025 NHL draft.
鈥淚 want to start by thanking Fred Harbinson and the ownership group led by Graham Fraser for the opportunity to serve as the director of scouting for the Vees," said Sergerie, who also served as Sherwood Park's president of hockey operations.
"I am eager to learn from an organization with such a rich history of success and am excited to work with the rest of the staff. Together, we will strive to build on the Vees' legacy and continue the tradition of excellence."
Sergerie, a Thunder Bay, Ont., product, was the director of player and coaching development at the Knights of Columbus Hockey Club in Edmonton before his time in Sherwood Park.
The 38-year-old played in both the Superior International Junior Hockey League and Manitoba Junior Hockey League, before enrolling at Lakehead University in Ontario.
On May 7, Penticton will take part in the WHL expansion draft.
Ahead of its inaugural games this fall at the South Okanagan Events Centre, the Vees will also participate in the WHL Prospects Draft, U.S. Priority Draft, and CHL Import Draft.
